Laboratory of Psychoeducation was founded in 1978. It is the first private psychotherapeutic centre in Poland – a community of experienced specialists, who conduct psychotherapy, supervisions, workshops, trainings and who have already educated several generations of therapists. Despite the unfavourable political climate persisting in the country until the end of eighties, Laboratory of Psychoeducation managed to pave the way for successive professionalization of the field of mental health in Poland. In order to make us familiar with therapeutic disciplines whose reputation had been scientifically grounded we have been inviting notable specialists, many of whom continue to collaborate with us today. Constant revision of the state of psychological knowledge enables us to perfect the methods of working with troubled patients and distinguish valuable innovations from scientifically unsubstantiated therapeutic novelties.
Our team consists of experienced and well-educated psychotherapists, trainers, coaches, doctors and lecturers. The quality of our work is confirmed by psychotherapists’ and psychotherapy supervisors’ certificates granted by Polish Psychological Association, Polish Psychiatric Association, European Association for Psychotherapy, European Association for Integrative Psychotherapy and also by trainers’ and training supervisors’ certificates granted by Polish Psychological Association.
Our work is based on relational and psychodynamic axioms, as well as psychoanalytic theories. We consider our psychic life the space of dynamically conflicted powers, partly unconscious, significantly influencing our thoughts, feelings, behaviour and relationships.
Respecting the principles of integrative thinking in the field of psychotherapy, in our work we also borrow the concepts traditionally ascribed to existential, humanistic, systemic and cognitive-behavioural therapy.
Members of our institute occupy significant posts in many Polish and international psychotherapeutic associations, such as Polish Psychological Association, Polish Psychiatric Association, Polish Association for Integration of Psychotherapy, Polish Coaching Association, European Association for Psychotherapy, European Association for Integrative Psychotherapy, Scientific Association for Psychodynamic Psychotherapy.
Our four-year studies in College of Psychotherapy located in our institute is recommended by Psychotherapy Section of Polish Psychological Association and has the certificate of Scientific Section of Psychotherapy of Polish Psychiatric Association.
