Katarzyna Schier is a professor working in the Department of Clinical Psychology of the Child and Family at the faculty of psychology of the University of Warsaw. She completed five-year postgraduate studies in children and adolescents psychotherapy in Heidelberg. She is a psychoanalyst and a psychoanalytic psychotherapist. Her scientific interests include mechanisms of psychotherapy, genealogy of psychosomatic diseases, the problematics of development, bodily self and body image disorders and also, recently, latent forms of violence within a family, such as parentification.
